I'm in this Dark Side of Relationships class and one of out units is on sex, I'm studying for my midterm and I just had to share these fascinating and horrifying things I'm learning from this scientific study on college students.

On average, college students reported 10.28 hookups during their college career





Hookups are defined as a sexual encounter between two people who are brief acquaintances or strangers, usually lasting only one night without the expectation of developing a relationship

Some males thought a hookup was best because ‘I got oral sex without putting much effort forth. It felt good but I’m glad that I’m not going out with a girl who is slutty like that.’

Precautions are taken to prevent transmission of STDs and/or pregnancy according to 20.5% of the participants; 38% reported that precautions are sometimes taken, 15% stated that precautions are not taken



A common theme in females’ descriptions of worst hookups was feeling pressured to engage in unwanted sexual behaviors. For example: "There was no alcohol, I just had low self-esteem at the time. I just let it happen. We had sex with no protection. It was pitiful how I was taken advantage of. I didn’t want to be there. I felt dirty. I showered immediately after we finished. I am sitting in my digital media class, a 3 hours class where we sit at computers for no reason and listen to a lecture. I wanted to go to bed 2 hours ago but I stayed awake to watch Tyra, this is no good for me. I embody the term busy bee, I have an internship that I have my very own desk at and an hour lunch break yay! School is really getting in the way of my social life, how long until graduation? -randomly ran into this guy who tried to pick me up in a Target parking lot, we talked our awkward encounter

-Gave my resume to some big-wig investment guy I drunkenly started talking to

We found a frog in the kiddy pool, it was alive and swimming, I screamed. This weekend is insanity, there is simply too much going on. I'm excited and dreading it all at once... It's true you & I have been married for 7 years, although a good man is a far cry from what you've been. Life at the moment is looking way up! I am finally getting started on my internship, I have lost 6 pounds and 2% body fat, I'm doing well in school, I'm finally starting to pay off my debt, baby Jake is going to be here by tomorrow, and theres a very good chance that I will be going to Mexico this summer (for FREE) EEEE I hope nothing kills this high. As of now I am internetless:( So I high-tailed it to the library with Rosa, and now I have internet! I ate way too much candy tonight, I feel so sick- but besides that life is pretty good! Hopefully I will feel the same way when I receive my midterms back this week (yikes!) I'm not as excited about turning 21 as I thought I'd be, maybe drinking just isn't my thang, or at least paying outrageous bar prices isn't, and I can already drink at home whenever I want. With that said I'm really looking forward towards the end of the quarter, vegas baby here I come! And of course I am excited for baby Jake to come! (if he'd hurry up already!)
